Question. What happens when Freddie McGregor, Lloyd Parks and We The People Band, John Holt, and an Orchestra that is being conducted by John Williams all meet on the same stage? Well, if you didn’t guess correctly, it’s called Reggae History. Reggae in Symphony took place at Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, NY, on Sunday October 14, 2007. It was a magical evening. The kind that was perfect for the history that was being created on that Brooklyn College stage.
The hosts for the evening were Jamaica’s greatest comedian, Oliver Samuels, and Legendary Jamaican Radio host, Marie Garth (Now based in Florida). NY based radio host DJ Roy also added a touch to the evening.
Freddie McGregor, Lloyd Parks and We The People Band, and John Holt all demonstrated brilliance and greatness in their performances, and John Williams directed the beautiful melody that led to the total captivation of the entire audience. There were many moments of awe and amazement.
Everyone in attendance added something special to the occasion. Specially invited guests included dignitaries from the Jamaica Consulate General and Congresswoman Yvette Clarke.
